Johann Valentin Andreae

Johannes Valentinus Andreae (1586–1654) a.k.a. Johann Valentin Andreae, was a German theologian who claimed to be the author of an ancient text known as the Chymische Hochzeit Christiani Rosencreutz anno 1459, which became one of the three foundational works of Rosicrucianism. Andreae was a prominent member of the Protestant utopian movement, which focused on the need for education and encouraging science as the key to national prosperity. Papers related to the Priory of Sion, a medieval secret society, listed Andreae as its seventeenth Grand Master.
