Colin Wilson

Colin Henry Wilson (1931–2013), born in Leicester, England, was an English writer, philosopher, and novelist. He wrote widely on true crime, mysticism, and the paranormal. Wilson called his philosophy "new existentialism," or "phenomenological existentialism," and maintained that his life work was "that of a philosopher and [his] purpose to create a new and optimistic existentialism." At the age of twenty-four in 1956, he published The Outsider, perhaps his best-known work. Over his lifetime, Wilson wrote numerous books—fiction, nonfiction, and biographies—on the occult and occult figures, crime and criminals, philosophy, and literary and "existential"criticism. in 1985, Wilson published Rudolf Steiner: The Man and His Vision.
