Irene Dugan

Sr. Irene Dugan (1909–1997), a Religious of the Cenacle and an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters, was a pioneer in applying the insights of depth psychology to Ignatian spirituality, with specific attention to gender differences in psycho-spiritual development. A leader of renewal in religious life following the Second Vatican Council, Sister Dugan, in the traditions of the Religious of the Cenacle, took initiative in developing spiritual growth opportunities for the laity and throughout her ministerial career provided spiritual guidance and sustenance to scores of people on their journey to a spirituality in depth.
